There are different perfumes suitable for the changing seasons. I find a light floral aroma in spring smells completely different again in autumn. I cannot understand it when it has the same products in each time. However I have been told that it reacts differently each time it is sprayed on a persons skin. If you’re hot and clammy when it gos on one day, it will definitely smell completely different to when you’re just idling at home on a winter’s evening. The perfumery business is so complex, with thousands of products to be tested continuously by very sensitive noses and each one goes through so many stages to testing even before anyone knows what it will smell like. Getting a new perfume for Chrismas is one of those delightful moments.
